
ACADEMIC SUMMER SCHOOL
High school students can receive 1 full credit for a 5-week course. Students may choose to review a course or get ahead by taking a new course (subject to availability). Please note that in order for a class to be offered, five people need to be registered for it.
Additional: Academic Skills Summer Course -
ORMA is offering a special opportunity for summer school students in addition to core content classes. An additional hour of research-based instruction will provide structured metacognition lessons to empower both middle school and high school students to develop personal strategies for success. The curriculum is based on the SMARTS program developed after decades of research by Dr. Lynn Meltzer and RESEARCHILD.
This course will cover executive function skills like organization, study skills, and time management to further support academic development. Families can opt to add this coursework to their chosen high school or middle school summer school coursework. High school students will receive .25 credits for the additional coursework on their transcript, and middle school students will receive an additional grade on their report card.

This summer school offers rising eighth grade students a review of the four core subjects: English, Math, Science and Social Studies. Students will attend monitored study halls to learn organizational development and positive study practices. At the end of their school day, the academic campers will join the leadership campers in their activities.
