Joe Sapp

Joe Sapp attended Oak Ridge Military Institute in 1962. He has served in the aviation industry since 1966, beginning as a civilian flight instructor, and then serving as an Aircraft Commander and Instructor Pilot for the U.S. Army from 1970-1974. Afterwards, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as a Principal Operations Inspector and Quality Assurance Specialist. In 1998, Joe left the Federal Aviation Association to serve as Director of Operations for U.S. Helicopters, Incorporated and then as the Contract Manager for Shell-Alaska Venture. Joe retired in 2012, and now lives in Winston-Salem, joining the Oak Ridge Military Academy Board of Trustees in 2017.
