Saturday’s celebration will feature several of our traditional homecoming events along with some new ventures! From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., stop by the Museum and Archives located inside Alumni Hall to peruse old yearbooks, uniforms and other great artifacts.
At 10 a.m., make your way over to the Oak Ridge Town Park where the Corps of Cadets will be participating in the opening ceremonies of the Town’s Heritage Day Festival. The Cadets will be posting the colors and marching in the parade.
Following the parade, return to campus for the presentation of the alumni awards at Alumni Hall, and plenty more homecoming activities. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., the parking lot of Bonner Field House will be packed with bikes and hot rods, as part of the Classic Car Show.
Come lunch time, the fun doesn’t stop. PorterHouse Burger’s Food Truck will be on-campus to serve you fresh grilled sandwiches. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and seating will be available in Bonner Field House, where Alumni and Cadets will dine together and share their ORMA stories. Meals will range from $8 to $12 and will be at your own expense, so please have cash or a credit card on hand.
Other daytime events for you to enjoy include Class Reunion Pictures in front of Alumni Hall, a Scavenger Hunt and a guided tour of the campus. Later that evening, the Law Offices of Susan P. Greeson will be hosting a cocktail hour with a cash bar from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at her subdivision’s club house, located at 8898 Cravenwood Drive (Oak Ridge). Following the cocktail hour, there will be an Alumni Dinner at one of the local restaurants (the location is yet to be determined). Please note the dinner will be at your own expense.
Following the President’s Reception on Friday night and the Alumni Dinner on Saturday, many will venture across the street to one of the neighboring establishments to keep reminiscing.
