ORMA Girls Basketball vs Bethany

ORMA EAGLES 53
Bethany Community 30

The Eagles improved to 3 – 1 with the 53-30 win over Bethany Community School.  After the 2 week lay-off the Eagles started expectedly slow, missing several point blank shots.  As the game progressed, the Eagles began to get their legs back.  Slowly and methodically the Eagles pulled away earning the road victory.  Mackenzie Allison had a huge night for ORMA scoring 28 points to go with her 16 rebounds.  Makayla Salter had a great game in transition, Bianca Festavan did a great job of keeping Bethany off the glass and Braley Stocks brought great energy off the bench for the Eagles.  The Eagles travel to Oak Level Baptist  tonight.  Game time is at 7:00 PM.

ORMA 34
Rage  40

MS Boys Basketball vs Carolina Baptist

ORMA Eagles 38
Carolina Baptist Panthers 32

The Eagles survived a late Panther rally to escape with a 38-32 overtime victory.   The game was close throughout as the teams traded baskets most of the way.  ORMA led by 5 with under 2 minutes to play but, could not put the Panthers away.  Up 1 with 14 seconds to go the Eagles looked like they had the defensive stop they needed but, they were whistled for a foul.  The Panthers made the 1st free throw but luckily the 2nd attempt was missed and the Eagles had a chance at redemption in overtime.  The 3 minute overtime was all Eagles as the superior tactical work of Coach Gary Holbrook was on full display as he drew up a set for a Gavin Evans 3 pointer with 10 seconds remaining to seal the deal.  Mason Lopez and Gavin Evans each had 16 points to pace the Eagles.  Andrew Leung, Tate Aycock and Byran Lemus each had a bucket for the Eagles as well.  With the win, the team improves to 2 – 1 on the season.  They will host OLBA next Friday.  Tip off is set for 6:00 PM here in Bonner Fieldhouse.
