SCHOOL DESCRIPTION
Oak Ridge Military Academy is an independent, college-preparatory, coeducational boarding and day school for students in grades 8-12. Founded in 1852, Oak Ridge is the last remaining military school in the state and is, officially, “The Military Academy of North Carolina.” The admission process is selective, with students encouraged to join the student body only if judged capable of a demanding college-preparatory curriculum. With the exception of day school girls who may choose to enroll in a non-military Girls’ Leadership Program, students become members of the Oak Ridge Military Academy Battalion. The Cadets participate in comprehensive military and leadership training (JROTC) that involves daily instruction and practical experiences within a cadet chain of command.
MISSION STATEMENT
Oak Ridge Military Academy offers a college-preparatory curriculum within a military structure that develops well-rounded young men and women who are prepared to succeed in college and have the self-discipline, integrity, and leadership skills necessary to reach their potential in life.
ACCREDITATION

Testimonial
from the ORMA testimonial archive
“ Enclosed is a gift for the academy in appreciation for the care and attention that was given our daughter, Mary Claire. Oak Ridge’s mission and philosophy did prepare Mary Claire for college and life. She will always remember the school as "home" and the faculty and staff as "family." „
