Happening this Week
The ORMA Drill Team will be performing in Montgomery, Alabama, at the American Legion / Coca-Cola National Drill Team Competition from February 1 through February 4, 2008. Additionally, the ORMA Honor Guard will be competing in three categories at this event: Unarmed Competition, Demilitarized Arms, and Female Facsimile Arms.

The Honor Guard is made up of twelve girls and twelve boys. So far during this academic year our Honor Guard has taken first place positions in both the Southern Lee High School Invitational and the Eastern Randolph High School Wildcat Invitational. Also, we came in second during the Citadel Rifle Legion Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina. All of these successes have placed the ORMA Honor Guard into the National Competition sited for the mentioned Alabama competition, as well as the "Nationals" scheduled during April in Daytona, Florida.

On February 8th Oak Ridge Military Academy will host the Triad Area Alumni Gathering at 6:00 p.m. Alums in attendance will tour the Archive Museum located in Alumni Hall. They will also attend the boy’s basketball game in Bonner Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. The Cadets will be playing High Point Christian Academy. Please call the Academy for future game scheduling or an update on team successes.

With all of the victories won by Oak Ridge - both on the drill fields and in athletic arenas - it is sometimes forgotten that Oak Ridge Military Academy is a great school known worldwide for its scholarship. We have cadets accepted daily into the better colleges and universities throughout the United States. College military schools fiercely compete for applications from our juniors and seniors, using many scholarship enticements to lure the high quality graduates of "The Ridge." Parents of our cadets enjoy watching colleges compete for their cadet's membership into esteemed schools.
