and percents, as well as patterns, functions, logic, statistics,
and probability. The knowledge gained should assist students in
developing critical thinking skills essential for success in future
mathematics courses.

concepts. It includes operations with polynomials and matrices,
creation and application of linear functions and relations, algebraic
representations of geometric relationships, and an introduction
to nonlinear functions. Students will be expected to describe
and translate among graphic, algebraic, numeric, tabular, and
verbal representation of relations and use those representations
to solve problems.
PHYSICAL SCIENCE
Physical science is the first science
in the series designed to present concepts pertaining to our physical
environment. Students will focus on understanding properties and
scientific discovery. The curriculum includes chemical processes,
motion and energy, light, sound, and properties of waves, and
atomic structure. Students will learn about scientific inquiry
and technology, as well as the fundamental nature of science.
LIFE SCIENCE
Life science is the second science in
the series designed to introduce concepts pertaining to living
things. Students will focus on understanding scientific classification
and life processes. The curriculum includes in depth study of
