Dan Carpinetti, U.S. Army (Retired)
Athletic Director, Health/PE Instructor
Dan
Carpinetti was born and raised in a small
town in Massachusetts. He joined the
US Army in February 1978, and retired
after more than 21 years of service in
the Special Forces units with the rank
of Sergeant Major. While in the Army,
Dan earned an Associates Degree from
Central Texas College. He began working
at Oak Ridge Military Academy in October
1998 as the Commandant of Cadets. In
October 1999, Dan transferred to the
JROTC Department as the LET II instructor.
In February 2004 Dan became the Director
of Admissions for Oak Ridge. After a
five-month tour in Baghdad as a civilian
contractor, Dan returned to ORMA in July
2006 as the Athletic Director and Health/PE
instructor. He has served as the Head
Coach for the Varsity Girls’ Volleyball
Team since 2002, and he was also the
Head Coach for the Varsity Boys’ Baseball
Team for one year. Dan continues to work
towards his bachelor’s degree at Salem
College in nearby Winston-Salem, North
Carolina. He is fluent in Spanish. Dan
has one son, Joe, who is a May 2007 graduate
of ORMA. In his spare time, Dan loves
rooting for the New England Patriots
in the NFL and the Boston Red Sox in
baseball.
